  • Fully automatic cableway radar flow measurement system

Product Details of Fully automatic cableway radar flow measurement system

    Product Introduction:

The fully automatic radar wave flow measurement system independently developed by Shuicejia consists of a cableway tower, an automatic running vehicle, a radar flow meter, a telemetry terminal, LORA terminal, a water level meter, a power supply system and a charging pile. The device adopts a low-power design, and the collection time can be set. At the same time, the device supports online duty and can be called at any time. The telemetry terminal integrates a 4G communication module and supports wired Ethernet access. The device supports remote settings and call functions, and is widely used in online flow measurement of small and medium-sized rivers, providing all-weather online monitoring for large rivers during high flood levels.

The mobile radar wave flow measurement system is easy to install, measures flow quickly, is not restricted by wind, rain or power outages, and is suitable for measuring flow in high-velocity and wide rivers. It can also be used for patrol and general flow measurement. It is used in the fields of hydrological monitoring, flood control and waterlogging prevention, environmental protection and sewage monitoring, etc.

    Working principle:

The mobile radar wave flow measurement system is achieved by setting up a simple cableway, hanging a radar operating vehicle and a radar flow meter on the cableway, and combining the large-section data and flow measurement vertical line parameters with the installed radar water level meter or other water level measuring device. The radar operating vehicle automatically measures the flow velocity of each vertical line according to the vertical line position, and sends it to the control and transmission system through short-range wireless communication. The telemetry terminal in the control and transmission system will calculate the flow velocity, flow rate, area and other data of each small section. After all vertical line measurements are completed, the flow area, average flow velocity, flow rate and other data of the large section are automatically calculated and finally uploaded to the platform for users to analyze, view and download.

Principle of multi-vertical line flow measurement:

When using the velocity-area method to measure flow in a very wide river, it is obviously unreasonable to rely on only one flow point for calculation, because the flow velocities at different locations in a wide river vary greatly. For example, there may be almost no flow on both sides, or there may be flow on one side and stagnant water on the other side. In this case, if the water is shallow, it is necessary to wade through multiple flow velocity vertical lines for measurement. If online monitoring is required, a multi-vertical flow measurement method is required. Simply put, multiple flow velocity measurements are performed at different locations on the river section. When the large section is known, the large section is divided into different small sections according to the position of the flow measurement vertical line. The flow rate and average flow velocity are calculated separately for each small section. The multi-vertical flow measurement method is divided into multiple vertical lines in the horizontal direction and different flow measurement points in the vertical direction according to different water depths.

    1)  Vertical flow velocity

Generally, when measuring flow online, it is impossible to measure flow velocities at different depths using Doppler ultrasonic flowmeters or radar flowmeters. Therefore, for single-point velocity measurement, we usually choose a flow velocity at 0.6 times the water depth. Radar flowmeters measure surface flow velocity, so manual calibration and compensation are required for higher accuracy.

    2)  Large-section flow measurement

Large -section data refers to the cross-section coordinate data of the river channel, which usually requires manual surveying. It can be measured by lead fish at hydrological stations with cableway lead fish, and can be measured by depth sounders in rivers without hydrological stations.

    3)  Shore coefficient

Since there may be backwater or dead water on the shore, and the roughness of the shore is different, an empirical coefficient is needed for compensation. The usual shore coefficient values are as follows:

    6)  Set in the telemetry terminal

Use the configuration assistant to connect to the telemetry terminal, set the large section data and vertical line position in [Section and flow measurement vertical line settings], and the communication address of the current meter corresponding to each vertical line. The configuration is as follows:

After that, set up the water level meter, select the water level meter model, installation height, elevation, etc., and you can start collecting and calculating normally, and collect and calculate the flow through multiple vertical lines.

Finally, the data can be viewed through the Shuicejia cloud platform, and the telemetry terminal RTU can also store and export data to generate standard reports.
